Corbula (Hexacorbula) was named by Olsson (1932) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-l R]. It is extant.

It was reranked as Caryocorbula (Hexacorbula) by da Silva Forti (1969); it was Bothrocorbula (Hexacorbula) by Perrilliat (1992); it was reranked as Hexacorbula by Sepkoski (2002) and Anderson and Roopnarine (2003).

It was assigned to Corbula by Olsson (1932); to Caryocorbula by da Silva Forti (1969); to Bothrocorbula by Perrilliat (1992); to Myoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Corbulidae by Anderson and Roopnarine (2003).
