Spongosaturnalis hexagonus was named by Yao (1972). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Mesosaturnalis hexagonus by Yao (1972) and Hori (1990); it was recombined as Acanthocircus hexagonus by Kido (1982); it was recombined as Hexasaturnalis hexagonus by Kozur and Mostler (1983) and Hori (2005).
