Tritonium decussatum was named by Valenciennes (1832) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Neogene-Recent; Caribbean.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Distorsio (Distorsio) decussatus by Woodring (1928); it was recombined as Distorsio decussatus by Rutsch (1930); it was recombined as Distorsio (Rhysema) decussatus by Woodring (1959); it was recombined as Distorsio (Rhysema) decussata by Perrilliat (1992); it was recombined as Distorsio decussata by Beu (2010).
