Taxonomy
Kelletia was named by Fischer (1884) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-l R Sepkoski's reference number: 914 Sepkoski's age data: T Eo R Sepkoski's reference number: 554]. It is extant. Its type is Fusus kelletii.

It was reranked as Siphonalia (Kelletia) by Vredenburg (1923), Mukerjee (1939), Ruth (1942) and Dey (1961); it was reranked as Chrysodomus (Kelletia) by Riedel (1933); it was misspelled as Kellettia by Jordan (1926), Pressler (1929), Addicott (1970) and Abbott (1974); it was corrected as Kellia by Glenn (1904), Vokes (1980), Beu et al. (1990), Moore (1992), Lamprell and Healy (1998), Sepkoski (2002), Marquet (2005), Bouchet et al. (2010), Coan and Valentich-Scott (2012) and Hickman (2015).

It was assigned to Leptonidae by Glenn (1904); to Chrysodomus by Riedel (1933); to Siphonalia by Vredenburg (1923), Mukerjee (1939), Ruth (1942) and Dey (1961); to Neptuneidae by Addicott (1970); to Buccinidae by Jordan (1926), Pressler (1929) and Abbott (1974); to Galeommatidae by Lamprell and Healy (1998); to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); to Kelliidae by Vokes (1980), Beu et al.
