Lacinia was named by Conrad (1833) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-m-l T Eo-m-u Sepkoski's reference number: 4,700]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Buccinidae by Palmer (1937) and Palmer and Brann (1966); and to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
