Platyceras (Orthonychia) compressum
Taxonomy
Orthonychia compressa was named by Girty (1910). Its type specimen is USNM 161316, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is locality 1099M. West side of Edmunds Hill, Chapman Township, which is in a Lochkovian delta front sandstone in the Chapman Sandstone Formation of Maine.
It was recombined as Platyceras (Orthonychia) compressum by Yochelson (1969).
