Anguinaria obtusa was named by Schumacher (1817) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene; Northern Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Tenagodus obtusus by Cavallo and Repetto (1992) and Marquet (1997).
