Ctenodonta subnasuta was named by Ulrich (1894) [DISTRIBUTION: Ordovician/]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Clitambonites Beds, near Cannon Falls, which is in a Shermanian marine limestone in the Prosser Formation of Minnesota.
