Taxonomy
Petalaxis baculatus was named by Bamber and Fedorowski (1998). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is GSC C-10891, E Blind Fiord B, Ellesmere Island, which is in a Kasimovian marine limestone in the Canyon Fiord Formation of Canada.
