Taxonomy
Petalaxis multilamellatus was named by Bamber and Fedorowski (1998). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is GSC C-179721-C-179727, NE Trold Fiord, Ellesmere Island, which is in a Moscovian shallow subtidal limestone in the Canyon Fiord Formation of Canada.
