Auriculigerina miranda was named by Dautzenberg (1925) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene-Recent; Mediterranean.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Chileutomia.

It was recombined as Chileutomia miranda by Landau and Marquet (2001) and Garilli and Messina (2006).
