Pseudomalaxis (Ewekorolaxis) ewekoroensis was named by Adegoke (1977) [DISTRIBUTION: Paleocene; Nigeria.]. Its type specimen is UIMG273, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ewekoro Quarry, which is in a Selandian open shallow subtidal packstone in the Ewekoro Formation of Nigeria. It is the type species of Pseudomalaxis (Ewekorolaxis).
