Trucheosaurus major
Taxonomy
Bothriceps major was named by Woodward (1909). Its type specimen is MMF 12697a, AMF 50977, BMNH R3728, a partial skeleton (Skull table and partial postcranium ), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Airly, near Capertee, which is in a Wuchiapingian deltaic shale in the Glen Davis Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Trucheosaurus major by Watson (1956), Marsicano and Warren (1998) and Schoch and Milner (2000).
