Taxonomy
Gypidula akimiskiformis was named by Jin (2005). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is AK2b, north side of Akimiski Island, which is in a Telychian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Attawapiskat Formation of Canada.
