Taxonomy
Microsphaeridiorhynchus hercostomaticum was named by Jin et al. (1993). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is GSC 80488, 79893 and 78697, Harricana River, which is in a Telychian shallow subtidal limestone in the Ekwan River Formation of Canada.
