It was recombined as Ostraea imbricata by Sowerby (1871); it was recombined as Dendostrea imbricata by Habe (1951); it was recombined as Pretostrea imbricata by Habe and Kosuge (1967) and Tomida and Nakamura (2001); it was recombined as Parahyotissa imbricata by Harry (1985); it was recombined as Hyotissa imbricata by Lam and Morton (2009).
