Aldebarania taberna was named by Blake and Jagt (2005). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Holotype NHMM 1999015-1, paratypes NHMM 1999015-2, -3.

D. B. Blake and J.W.M. Jagt 2005Paxillae low, stout, with a subpolygonal crown; paxillae arranged in regular series. Accessories consist of closely fitted short spinelets. Superomarginals weakly inset from edge of inferomarginals. Medial, raised ridge on inferomarginals lacking.
