Taxonomy
Albanerpeton galaktion was named by Fox and Naylor (1982). Its type specimen is UA 16203, a partial skull (pleft premaxilla), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Verdigris Coulee (UA-MR-6), which is in a Santonian terrestrial sandstone/shale in the Milk River Formation of Canada.

Naylor 1982Differs from A. inexpectatum in smooth anterior surface with scattered shallow pits; from A. arthridion in shorter medial ridge on pars facialis and distinct indentation for prefrontal; and from both in deep, large pit behind pars facialis and above pars palatina, and in enlarged teeth in anterior of dentary and maxillary.
