Ficula pamotanensis was named by Martin (1899) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene-Miocene; Indonesia, Pakistan.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Pirula pamotanensis by Vredenburg (1925); it was recombined as Ficus pamotansis by Iqbal (1969); it was recombined as Ficus pamotanensis by Iqbal (1980) and Squires (2014).
