Taxonomy
Chiton incisus was named by Sowerby (1841) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Recent; Western Pacific.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Schizochiton.

It was recombined as Schizochiton incisus by Gray (1847) and Ladd (1966).
