Fusus (Fasciolaria) plexus was named by Wolff (1897) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Fasciolaria (Pleuroploca) plexa by Hagn and Hözl (1952); it was recombined as Fasciolaria plexa by Telegdi-Roth (1914) and Harzhauser and Mandic (2001).
