Pleurotoma regularis was named by Koninck (1837) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Surcula regularis by Telegdi-Roth (1914); it was recombined as Turricula regularis by Hözl (1962); it was recombined as Clavatula regularis by Ondrejickova and Senes (1965); it was recombined as Orthosurcula regularis by Janssen (1979) and Harzhauser and Mandic (2001).
