Pyrula cingulata was named by Bronn (1856) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Pyrula (Ficula) cingulata by Hörnes and Auinger (1890); it was recombined as Pirula cingulata by Cossmann and Peyrot (1923); it was recombined as Ficus (Ficus) cingulatus by Sieber (1956); it was recombined as Ficus (Fulguroficus) cingulatua by Koujumdgieva (1960); it was recombined as Ficus (Ficus) cingulatua by Baluk (1995); it was recombined as Ficus (Ficus) cingulata by Harzhauser (2002).
