Taxonomy
Cymia heimi was named by Hertlein and Jordan (1927) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Baja California.]. Its type specimen is LSJU 66, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LSJU Loc. 66, San Ignacio [Isidro Fm], which is in a Miocene marine sandstone in the Isidro Formation of Mexico.
