Alvania (Taramellia) corayi was named by Ladd (1966) [DISTRIBUTION: Neogene-Recent; Pacific.]. It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 648355, a shell.
It was recombined as Clatrosansonia corayi by Le Renard and Bouchet (2003); it was recombined as Microliotia corayi by Hendy (2007).
