Taxonomy
Natica fluctuata was named by Sowerby (1825) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; west Pacific.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Cernina.

It was recombined as Cernina fluctuata by Majima (1989), Kabat (1991) and Kase and Ishikawa (2003); it was recombined as Globularia fluctuata by Hendy (2007).
