Rostellaria (Rimella) semicancellata was named by Martin (1899) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; Indonesia.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Rimella semicancellata by Skwarko and Sufiati (1994); it was recombined as Varicospira semicancellata by Harzhauser (2007).
