Taxonomy
Raphitoma was named by Monterosato (1884) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than R Sepkoski's reference number: 614]. It is extant. It is the type genus of Raphitomidae.

It was reranked as Daphnella (Raphitoma) by Vredenburg (1921).

It was assigned to Daphnella by Vredenburg (1921); to Conidae by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995); to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Turridae by Baluk (2003); to Daphnellinae by Wienrich and Janssen (2007); and to Raphitomidae by Bouchet et al. (2011).
