Sargana was named by Stephenson (1923) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp-l K Maes-u Sepkoski's reference number: 4,123]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Rapaninae by Sohl (1964) and Sohl (1964); and to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
