Astrea crassoramosa was named by Michelin (1843). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Enallocoenia crassoramosa by Beauvais (1966) and Pandey and Fürsich (2005); it was recombined as Actinastrea crassoramosa by Geyer (1955), Geyer (1965), Prinz (1991) and Kiessling et al. (2011).
