Perna quadrisulcata was named by Ihering (1897) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene-Miocene; Chile, Argentina.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Isognomon quadrisulcata by Frassinetti and Covacevich (1999).
