It was assigned to Clavinae by MacNeil (1960); to Turridae by Todd (2001); to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Drilliinae by Wilson (1994) and Wienrich and Janssen (2007); and to Drilliidae by Bouchet et al. (2011).
