Taxonomy
Archaeosmilia beata was named by Melnikova (1975). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Mynhajir Zone, SE-Pamir, which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Gurumdy Formation of Tajikistan. It is the type species of Archaeosmilia.
