Taxonomy
Actinaraeopsis ventosiana was named by Morycowa and Masse (2007). Its type locality is New scleractinian species, Mont Ventoux, which is in a Barremian shallow subtidal limestone in France.

It was recombined as Camptodocis ventosiana by Baron-Szabo (2009).
