Taxonomy
Microeciella pollostos was named by Taylor and Wilson (1999). Its type specimen is NHMUK BZ 4494 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is C/W 142, Eagle Mountain, which is in a Bathonian shallow subtidal limestone/sandstone in the Carmel Formation of Utah.
