Thamnastraea rectilamellosa was named by Winckler (1861). It is not extant.
It was recombined as Fungiastraea rectilamellosa by Melnikova (1967); it was recombined as Thamnasteria rectilamellosa by Wu (1977) and Kristan-Tollmann et al. (1980); it was recombined as Pamiroseris rectilamellosa by Melnikova (1971), Fantini Sestini and Motta (1984), Stanley (1994) and Shepherd et al. (2012).
