It was recombined as Rhabdophyllia cervina by Etallon (1864); it was recombined as Calamophyllia cervina by Geyer (1954) and Geyer (1955); it was recombined as Calamophylliopsis cervina by Turnsek (1997) and Baron-Szabo (2017).
