Taxonomy
Ostrea sculpturata was named by Conrad (1840) [DISTRIBUTION: Plio-Pleistocene; Florida.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Ostrea (Alectryonia) sculpturata by Olsson and Harbison (1953) and DuBar (1958); it was recombined as Conradostrea sculpturata by Ward (1992).
