Peltosaurus macrodon
Taxonomy
Peltosaurus macrodon was named by Brattstrom (1955). Its type specimen is C.I.T. No. 5118, a mandible (anterior end of a right dentary and four dermal head or body plates), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Tapo Canyon (Upper), which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Sespe Formation of California.
