Acanthopecten bellosum
Taxonomy
Acanthopecten bellosum was named by Hoare et al. (1978). Its type specimen is OSU 27284, a shell (left valve), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Hfg-6. Abandoned clay strip mine, Logan Clay Products Co., which is in a Desmoinesian marine shale in the Allegheny Formation of Ohio.
