Crenilabium was named by Cossmann (1889) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp R]. It is extant.

It was reranked as Actaeonina (Crenilabium) by Traub (1938).

It was assigned to Actaeonina by Traub (1938); to Cephalaspida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Acteonidae by Beu et al. (1990) and Wienrich and Janssen (2007).
