It was reranked as Bulla (Haminea) by Langdon (1886); it was corrected as Haminea by Brown and Pilsbry (1913); it was corrected as Haminaea by Abbass (1967).

It was assigned to Bulla by Langdon (1886); to Gastropoda by Brown and Pilsbry (1913); to Atyidae by Abbass (1967); to Haminoeidae by Jensen (1996) and Todd (2001); and to Cephalaspida by Sepkoski (2002).
