Mapes 2007 | Coiled genus of trigonoceratids, evolute without strong compression; juvenile shell Stroboceras-like with shallow ventral groove, but ventral groove becomes reduced at or near maturity on the roundly inflated venter; ventrolateral and lateral grooves and ventral ridges strong in juvenile conch, but become obsolescent or subdued with maturity; profiles of adoral whorls are subsemicircular to depressed suboval, with width/height ratios attaining 1.11; umbilical angle well defined in adoral whorls; dorsal (contact) groove shallow and narrow; adoral growth lines are not accentuated as in Stroboceras; sutures with shallow lateral lobes; siphuncle subcentral. |
