Taxonomy
Hydrasmilia rhythmica was named by Turnsek and Senowbari-Daryan (1994). It is not extant. Its type locality is Hydra, reef limestone facies, which is in a Tuvalian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Pantokrator limestone Formation of Greece. It is the type species of Hydrasmilia.
