Taxonomy
Strombina lessepsiana was named by Brown and Pilsbry (1911) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene; northern South America, Panamanian Isthmus. COMMENTS: Type specimen and dimensions based on lectotype.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 64892, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Strombina (Strombina) lessepsiana by Jung (1989).
