Volutilithes muricinus

Taxonomy
Voluta muricina was named by Lamarck (1802) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Atlantic.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Courtagnon (Lamarck collection), which is in a Lutetian carbonate sandstone in France.

It was recombined as Volutilithes municinus by Bone et al. (1991); it was recombined as Eopsephaea muricina by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995); it was recombined as Volutilithes muricinus by Perrilliat et al. (2006).
