Taxonomy
Ranella pectinata was named by Hinds (1844) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene-Recent; Colombia, Panama, Ecuador.]. It is extant. Its type specimen is BMNH (unknown number; lost), a shell.

It was recombined as Eupleura pectinata by Herbert (2005) and Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
