Chrysallida was named by Carpenter (1856) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-l-u R Sepkoski's reference number: 614,899]. It is extant.

It was reranked as Odostomia (Chrysallida) by Martin (1904).

It was assigned to Odostomia by Martin (1904); to Heterostrophia by Sepkoski (2002); to Odostomiinae by Rosenberg et al. (2006); and to Pyramidellidae by Ward and Blackwelder (1987), Todd (2001) and Wienrich and Janssen (2007).
