Creonella was named by Wade (1917) [Sepkoski's age data: K Maes-l T Dani Sepkoski's reference number: 914]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Pyramidellidae by Sohl (1964); and to Heterostrophia by Sepkoski (2002).
