Angelosaurus romeri
Taxonomy
Angelosaurus romeri was named by Olson and Barghusen (1962). Its type specimen is FMNH (CNHM) UR 827, a set of postcrania (pelvis, right femur, vertebrae, some with associated ribs and/or chevrons), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is KF-1, Omega Quarry (Chickasha Formation), which is in a Roadian/Wordian channel sandstone/conglomerate in the Chickasha Formation of Oklahoma.

E. C. Olson and H. Barghusen 1962 | Pubis and ischium forming a broad, somewhat saddle-shaped plate with strong median symphysis. Sacral ribs bladelike and almost completely separated from each other at articulation with ilium. All three sacral vertebrae ankylosed. Femur with internal trochanter developed approximately halfway between proximal and distal limits of the intertrochanteric fossa. Fourth trochanter prominent, with marked drop-off to slightly developed adductor ridge. |
